     The University of Reading in Britain was founded in 1892 by Oxford University and was authorized by the Royal Government in 1926. Today, it has become a comprehensive university integrating research and teaching, and its achievements in all aspects have made it in the forefront of famous universities in Britain.
      Reading University is an international university with about 12000 students, including 4600 graduate students. Overseas students come from more than 130 different countries. Reading University is a residential university, with special emphasis on scientific research and graduate education. It has 43 departments and 5 university departments, and has high scores in the official teaching and research evaluation.
      Reading University is located in the warm southeast of England, 60 kilometers west of London, and can directly reach London's Heathrow International Airport. The school is only 3 kilometers away from the downtown of Reading. There are lakes, parks, trees and botanical gardens in the campus. The lake is beautiful and the scenery is pleasant. The main campus covers an area of about 300 hectares. In Reading, students and schools play a very important role. Shopping is very convenient, and it has excellent railway and bus passenger transport services. The m4 motorway is one kilometer away from the school and goes straight to the center of downtown London along Reading. It is 23 kilometers from m4 to the world's No. 1 Heathrow International Airport. It only takes about 22 minutes to get to central London by intercity train. Students' dormitories are basically located on the main campus.
      Like many old universities, the University of Reading has a variety of life and sports entertainment facilities for students, several stadiums and various activities. There are more than 130 student associations and clubs. Although the cost in the school is not expensive, the restaurant and service industry in the urban area of Reading are relatively expensive, mainly due to the high average composition of the residents of Reading, which is not good news for students who like leisure activities but are short of money. This is a big contrast with Manchester City, Birmingham and other places. But social order and public security are obviously much better.

　 雷丁大学是一所国际性大学，约有1.2万名学生，其中4600位是研究生，海外学生来自于130多个不同的国家。雷丁大学是一个住宿制大学，特别重视科研与研究生教育，学校设有43个系，5大学科，在官方的教学五科研评估中分数很高。

　 雷丁大学地处在温暖的英格兰东南部，在伦敦西部60公里处，可直接到达伦敦的希思罗国际机场。学校距雷丁市中心仅3公里，校园内有湖、公园、树林和植物园，湖光水色、景色宜人。主校园面积约300公顷。在理丁，学生和学校起着很重要的作用。购物十分方便，并且有着出色的铁路和大巴客运服务。m4高速公路在距离学校一公里处沿理丁直达伦敦市区中心。由m4到达世界排名第一的西思罗国际机场为23公里。乘城际列车到达伦敦市中心只需大约22分钟。学生宿舍基本都设在主校园。

　 象很多老大学一样，理丁大学校内有各种为学生服务的生活和体育娱乐设施，有数个体育场馆，开展的活动多种多样。各种学生社团和俱乐部有130多个。虽然校内花费并不昂贵，但理丁市区的餐馆和服务业收费比较贵，主要是由于理丁居民的平均构成成分较高造成的，这对于喜欢业余活动但患囊羞涩的学生不是好消息。这一点和曼城，伯明翰等地的反差较大。但是社会秩序和治安明显好很多。
